In order to help visitors to our site with any questions they may have, we have carefully prepared a number of Frequently Asked Questions and their answers to allow for a quick reference. Kindly refer to our specific sections for more details.
Do I need to register to be able to make a purchase in Country Attire?
No, you do not need to register as we have an express checkout system; although for PayPal payments we do require registration. If you do register you can enjoy swift shipment of your purchases, ease of use of the site and greater member's benefits. We recommend signing up to receive our occasional newsletter by email.
How long will it take to receive my purchase(s)?
UK orders will be sent via Royal Mail or other courier; items over £100 in value are normally delivered on the next working day, and will require a signature. Other UK items are sent via Royal Mail Tracked Delivery or First Class mail (1-3 working days delivery time). We also ship to any B.F.P.O. address.
Other orders are sent via insured Royal Mail Airmail, or courier such as DPD; most items need to be signed for. Delivery times are normally 2-14 working days, depending on location.
Delivery performance during busy times such as Christmas may be slightly lower; although we endeavour to keep deliveries on time by upgrading delivery methods free of charge where needed.
If you have any special requirements for delivery, such as a specific date the item(s) are required by, please let us know and we should be able to meet them.
What happens if the item I order proves to be out of stock?
This is unlikely to happen as stock is updated every few minutes from our live inventory, but it is possible, especially during very busy times, that items can oversell before it is removed from our website. However, if the item purchased is currently not in stock, you will be informed of the expected delivery date before your order is processed. You can then decide to wait for delivery within the stipulated time; we will also offer a very similar alternative of equal or higher value if available.
What are the payment options available?
Country Attire provides customers with payment options: credit card, debit card, AMEX or PayPal. Other payment options can be accepted by contacting out customer services team (cheque, money order or bank transfer).
Is it safe to use my credit card on the Country Attire website?
Yes, it is absolutely safe to make purchases with your credit card on our web site. This is because Country Attire employs the latest version of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Technology providing an encrypted channel and server authentication, so that all information is transmitted through a secure server connection. This means there is no risk when you shop with us. We also have 3DS card security for total peace of mind.
Is my personal information shared?
No. Unlike some of our rivals, Country Attire has never and never will share, sell, rent or lease any personal and confidential data obtained through our website to other companies, nor will we sell or otherwise share any of your personal information with any third party without your permission or as may be required by law enforcement officials. We take every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via our website, the information is protected both online and off-line.
What if I wish to purchase a particular product not found in Country Attire?

Will I have to pay any other charges, such as delivery cost, tax or duty?
For many years, we have pledged to simplify online shopping; the prices quoted at the product information page and during the checkout process are exactly what you will pay to Country Attire, there are no hidden additions to pay (unless you select/request an upgraded delivery service). We cannot be responsible for any duties payable locally; please contact your local authorities if you have any concerns about this.
How much are delivery charges?
We provide FREE delivery on every product. The price you see on the product description page is the price you pay at checkout.
When I try to make payment I get a "Not Authorised" message. What could be wrong?
If you are using a UK issued card the most likely explanation is that the card is expired, has insufficient credit available or is being blocked by your card issuer. You should contact your card company to find out more information.
How do I remove an unwanted item from my shopping cart?
Firstly, click the 'My Cart' button on the top right hand side of any page. A page will load showing all the contents of your shopping cart. If you want to completely remove an item click the icon to the left of the item and it will be removed from the basket. The page will reload and the item will have been deleted. To decrease/increase the quantities of any item simply click ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to adjust the quantity shown in the box and click 'Update Shopping Cart'. The page will reload showing the revised quantity. Please note that entering '0' and updating the cart also completely removes the item.
You show 'Fabric Weights' in gsm for some products. What does this mean?
This is the general standard for comparing the weight (or thickness) of fabrics. GSM stands for 'grams per square metre'. In other words, a fabric weight of 260gsm means a piece of that cloth 1m x 1m would weigh 260 grams. Therefore, the higher the gsm number, the heavier and thicker the fabric. White fabrics usually have less weight than colours because they have not been dyed.
Can I place a special order or alteration to my Barbour Product?
Yes, we can supply goods altered by Barbour to special order. Payment in full is required on placement of the order and the bespoke garment is non-returnable unless faulty.
