Blogger of the Month Questions:

Tell us a bit about Raindrops of Sapphire…

Raindrops of Sapphire is my personal life and fashion blog. It's a place online for me to share my outfits, my finds, my new purchases and just general day to day life involving trips on a daily basis. It's sort of turned into a little community now with regular readers and commenters and I'm fortunate enough to have it as a business. It's grown so much over the years and has had 1.5 million views and I've been able to collaborate with Paige Denim on the Lorna jeans, won awards and more! I'm truly grateful for everything that's come from it!

How did you first start blogging?

I have been the editor of an online denim magazine for 7 years, but 4 years ago I decided I would like my own space to share my love for fashion. It originally started out as a place where I would post little snaps of my denim outfits and post about new products coming out, however it's now developed into much more. I guess what got me into it was my love for writing and denim, plus I loved being a part of the forum community which inspired me to create my own.

What’s the story behind the name ‘Raindrops of Sapphire’?

I wanted something really unique and different, so my boyfriend and I spent a while coming up with names that we thought were fun. Raindrops seemed appropriate because as you know, being British means it's always raining! I chose sapphire because I thought the blue sapphire rain would look pretty and it mixes my love of jewellery and gemstones into the mix and of course, blue is for denim. So Raindrops of Sapphire was born!

What is your favourite part of being a blogger?

Probably being able to share my passion with others and getting feedback from them. Honestly, if I didn't have such loyal readers and people who loved my blog, it wouldn't be anywhere near as successful as it is now so that's my true favourite part. Feedback from everyone and of course, trying to create beautiful pictures. I'm very visually stimulated so I love trying to make everything as pretty as I can. It means a lot to me and I also just got shortlisted by Company magazine for 'Best Designed Blog' which I'm excited about!

What advice would you give to aspiring bloggers?

I actually get asked this question a lot and I always give the same answer. Be true to yourself. Don't try to copy anyone, don't try to be someone you aren't as it will just make you bored and lack enthusiasm, plus, nobody will read as they prefer the original person. Always have your own voice and be passionate about what you do, it shows through in your blog and it's important to be yourself. Something unique that people will relate to.

If you could only blog about one of the following for the next year what would it be? Food, drink, fashion, travel, beauty.

Fashion mostly. I mainly cover that now, rarely ever food or drink, with only the occasional beauty and travel thrown in. So definitely fashion!

Describe yourself in three words:

Ambitious, shy and focused.

If you had three things that you’d love to achieve in the next 5 years, what would they be?

Finally making a trip to Disneyland with my boyfriend! It's been my dream for a really long time. Hopefully my blog would be really successful and taken off pretty well so more opportunities open for me. Ideally I would love my own line of denim, shoes or bags! That would be amazing!

Finally…what’s on your Country Attire wish list for this month?

Hunter biker wellies and one of their umbrellas! I live in wellies when it's raining, so I can never have too many!
