London Fashion Week: Belstaff, Hunter & Vivienne Westwood

The pinnacle of the fashion year, September is not a month to miss if you hold interest in the creative industry. For the month where fashion glossies resemble telephone directories, anyone who is anyone will be vying for an all-important invitation to preview the next season’s key trends in each country’s fashion weeks.  London takes no exception to this international tradition being dubbed as one of ‘the big four’ fashion weeks not to miss. First showing in 1984, London Fashion Week has quickly amassed interest, becoming all the more accessible in recent years thanks to internet and social media availability.

Here at Country Attire we will be eagerly awaiting the shows of some of our most successful brands; Hunter Original, Vivienne Westwood and Belstaff. English luxury lifestyle brand Aspinal of London and royally approved knitwear designer John Smedley will also play a key role in the next week’s events with presentations of their own. Once upon a time Fashion Week was an elite experience, exclusive only to the privileged and influential. These days the metaphorical doors of internet browsing are flung open inviting all to come and see what the fuss is about. With shows being live streamed and bloggers gracing the front row, instant updates have never been easier to follow.

The purpose of Fashion Week is not just to sell clothes; it is a celebration of each nation’s talent. In the example of London, every designer creates their own vision to embody what typical British style means to them. Ever the advocates for home-grown brands, we couldn’t be more excited to see what’s on offer this year. The influential few take a stab at evoking their artistic interpretations of next season’s trends and inviting the industry’s most notable to form opinion.  Take a look below to see what your favourite Country Attire brands have in store for the 62nd biannual London Fashion Week.

Most famous for carrying forward the post-punk fashion reinvention, these days her brand is more known for taking influence from 17th and 18th Century fabrics and blending effortlessly with Saville row style tailoring. Expect the unexpected as Vivienne challenges ideologies, we expect to see strong use of colour and experimentation with hair and make-up for next season. The title for the show will be ‘Mirror the World’ which Vivienne has said represents ‘understanding the world through art and culture’.

Belstaff - Monday 21st September 4:30pm - 8:30pm

An iconic brand must always be represented accordingly and Belstaff take no exception to this. Beckham will star in a short titled ‘Outlaws’ to promote the collection, being premiered on Monday to an exclusive guest list of viewers.
