Christy is one of our most beloved British heritage brands dating back to 1850 and the invention of the towel. Founder Henry Christy had returned to England after a trip from Constantinople, or Turkey as it is known today, with samples of luxurious fabric that had not touched British soil prior. The first terry towel was produced a year later and displayed at the Great Exhibition in 1851 for her Majesty Queen Victoria who immediately placed an order for the novel Christy towel – and the rest is history! These historical foundations paved the way for Christy’s long-standing tradition of expertise and craftsmanship, producing premium towelling fabric in an inherently British style. A strong knowledge of fabric, intricate detailing, beautiful woven designs, and classic yet contemporary styling has allowed Christy to evolve and develop over the 170 years it has been in the business. You can discover our range of Christy towels that are designed to suit all your needs including hand towels, bath towels, bathmats, all boasting a variety of traditional colours and styles.
