Starting at the family kitchen table, Forest Distillery’s humble story began in 2014 when owners Lindsay and Karl Bond started distilling small batches of spirits in their home located right next to the beautiful, Macclesfield Forest. Initially created out of pure enjoyment, the first few forest gin distillations were made with a handful of berries, mosses and ferns hand foraged by the Bond’s 6-year-old daughter, Harriet, from the surrounding forest and hills. Today, Forest Distillery has been recognised as one of the world’s finest spirits, has won two double-gold medals at the San Francisco Spirit Awards and can be enjoyed in some of the finest bars, restaurants, hotels and lounges worldwide. Forest Distillery gin and whiskey to this day are still made with immense pride and love in a unique 17th-century barn sitting 1,200ft above sea level within the Macclesfield Forest in the Peak District National Park. With a goal to make the best tasting products possible, Forest Distillery uses only the finest locally sourced and organic ingredients predominantly foraged by hand and all water used comes from their very own clear natural spring. Expertly produced independently amongst 5 members of the Bond family, each organic gin is made using pestle and mortars, tiny pot stills, and the Forest Distillery whiskey is now distilled in a state-of-the-art 500-litre pot still.
